CoastalViews Facility is the only facility in Western Canada to offer full ethnic research capabilities. With a diverse variety of cultures and languages in the Vancouver area, we have identified the need to have a focus group facility that can provide unparalleled ethnic research services. This is how the facility logistics are laid out for ethnic qualitative research:
The ethnic focus group is conducted in the Whistler Room in the native language of the respondents and recorded on DVD & MP3 in the native language.
The client viewers are watching and listening to the translated English version of the focus group from the Discovery Lounge. Additionally, up to two viewers can simultaneously listen via wireless headphones to the original native language.
The translator works from the Arbutus Room watching the focus group on a personal TV screen and listening to the focus group via headset. We provide this private room as translation involves a high level of focus and concentration. The translator verbalizes the translated English version into a microphone, which is fed into the Discovery Lounge. The translated version is recorded in MP3.
